I hope everyone is over the summer break and, looking at the sewing machine and thinking of getting
down to a new projects for the autumn.
Craftswoman fabrics have some lovely fabrics in their winter collections.
I find they are very good at sending swatches by phoning up your requests or for 20 euros you
receive the new fabrics for each season.

The three day course was a great success.
Una, Breda and Ann started to make coats.
Gillian made a Christmas Tree Skirt, using wonderful imported American fabrics from the designer Laurel Burch.
Georgia created a corset, Loraine made a skirt and Breda progressed from bags to hats.
Eileen made an outfit for a wedding and, of course Eric made a evening dress.
A great time was had by all.
I have a few places on the Skirt pattern cutting workshop Saturday 24th September 10-1pm
The cost is 25 euros per session. In this class you will make a skirt block to fit your measurements
from which you can create your own designs
A Trip to the knitting and stitching show Dublin
I am thinking of organizing a trip to the Knitting and Stitching Show in November. If any of you
are interested in coming just email me and I will get back to you. If we have enough people I will hire
a coach and buy a group ticket, which will bring the cost down for everyone. Lots of inspiration to be had there.
The cost of the day trip to the Dublin Show is 35 Euros per person including entry ticket and direct
transport to it from Parkswood.
One day courses coming up
Bags bags bags
Saturday 12th November 10 am-4-30pm
Cost is 50 euros (includes a light lunch)
This course will set you on your way to making bags of various sizes and shapes and we will also cover hats and accessories. Great presents for Christmas.
Basic curtain making
Saturday 19th November 10 am- 4-30pm
Cost is 50 euros (includes a light lunch)
You will cover how to measure and cut curtains. Show how to make curtain tops and finishes. All with the help of a professional curtain maker.
Fashion design
Saturday 26th November 10 am-4-30pm
Cost is 50 euros (includes a light lunch)
This is a one day introduction to fashion design. We will cover how a design is formulated and how you can create your own ideas. You will be given templates until you gain confidence in your drawings.
Christmas gifts and decorations
Saturday 3rd December 10-4pm
Cost 50 euros (includes a light lunch)
This is a fun class giving you lots of ideas on how to give your house a designer look at Christmas. There will be great ideas for an individual gift to your friends and family.
